Center for Social and Biomedical Engineering

Center for Social and Biomedical Engineering has been established in 2025 with the aim of contributing to the resolution of societal challenges by integrating unique scientific knowledge and promoting interdisciplinary collaborations between medicine and engineering both within and outside the university. The center focuses on interdisciplinary research in biomedical and social engineering, with an emphasis on regenerative medicine and healthcare. To this end, it engages in the following research areas:

Biomedical Engineering Research

?Development of novel culture methods and medical materials utilizing bio-functional materials
?Comprehensive understanding of multicellular systems for the diagnosis and treatment of human diseases
?Comprehensive understanding of human genetic diversity based on elucidation of the pathophysiology of rare diseases

Socio-Medical Engineering Research

?Design of boundary objects aimed at reducing caregiver burden while maintaining the quality of care
?Realization of mental health care for the elderly through the integration of large language models and smart sensor systems
