During the event, four research groups from the University of Basel presented updates on their respective fields, covering areas such as robotics and control systems, surgical laser integration, biomechanical simulations, and biomaterials for bone regeneration. The presentations not only demonstrated the interdisciplinary nature of the project, but also highlighted the successful international collaborations between the University of Basel and Japan, and with Kyoto Institute of Technology in particular.
The networking session that followed the presentations saw active discussion and exchange among participants from academia, industry and institutions. The discussions addressed frameworks for international joint research initiatives, future cooperation strategies, and reports on successful ongoing collaborations between Japanese and Swiss institutions.
In June this year, the University of Basel and Kyoto Institute of Technology signed an Agreement on Academic and Student Exchange, becoming partner institutions.
